Ride to Shackleford Banks West End

This approximately 25-minute Shackleford ferry ride takes you to the west end of Shackleford Banks. You can enjoy captivating sights of wild horses, explore seashells and birds, and go camping. Enjoy views of Historic Beaufort Waterfront while riding on Island Express Ferry.

West End of Shackleford Banks offers endless opportunities to create memorable experiences with the family. Watch local bird species and the famous Banker horses as you explore the island. With a herd of over 100 horses roaming the island, you may glimpse of the wild horses that call this island home. Take a ferry ride with Island Express ferry to see some of the few wild horses of North America.
